Only 18 kms before Shimla (Himachal Pradesh, Northern India) and  a 2.7 kms diversion from the highway, a picturesque forest drive takes one to Park Woods.

The Parkwood Hill Resort in Shoghi is surrounded by scenic countryside with spectacular views and a wide variety of birdlife.

The drive itself is as interesting as the place.

Access

By road: 6.5 hours from Delhi via Sonepat, Karnal, Panchkula, Kalka, Parwanoo, Solan, Kandaghat.

By rail: Morning and overnight trains to Kalka which is 73 kms from Shoghi.
Thereafter Shoghi is 2 hours by road.
Cabs are easily available at Kalka Railway Station.

Or take the toy train from Kalka till Kandaghat.
From Kandaghat, Parkwoods is 17 kms.

By air: Shimla, Chandigarh are the nearest airports.
Route by road (Delhi to Parkwoods Shoghi, 335 kms):
Delhi - Sonepat - Panipat - Karnal - Ambala - Zirakpur - Panchkula - Pinjore - Kalka - Parwanoo - Solan - Kandaghat - Shoghi.
While driving up from Delhi or Chandigarh, after reaching Kalka,
follow the road up to Solan. Drive further on to Kandaghat and
follow the Shimla Highway.

From Kandaghat, after 13 kms you will see a board for "Mahalaxmi Furniture" and a white building on the right-hand side on the highway.
2 kms ahead from here on the left-hand side is a small market.   

After 100 metres from the market, you will reach a check post with a green police hut.

From the check post, take the diversion down the left side of the highway.
(If you miss this turn, a little ahead you will hit the milestone reading "Shoghi - 2 Kms and Shimla - 15").
               
After taking the left turn drive on the metalled road for 2.7 kms following the Parkwoods Boards.

From Village Paughat, take a left turn and follow the road which is slightly narrow to reach the Parking of Parkwoods.

From the Parking, the resort is a 80 meters / 5 minute walk down a cemented slope / stairs.

From the check post,
take the diversion down the left side of the highway.

There is a large clearing for parking of vehicles.

a forested slope to reach the Retreat.
